Tesla May Not Be for Ground Vehicles
Budrigannews.com – Electrek’s exclusive report states that Tesla (NASDAQ:) has applied to include electric motors “not for land vehicles” in its trademark, implying that the electric vehicle giant may be developing electric motors for boats, airplanes, and other vessels.
Tesla states in the filing that it “intends to use” the trademark in the future, despite the fact that it does not currently use it for those categories.
The submission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office reads as follows: Asynchronous motors, not land vehicles, are the focus of TESLA’s trademark registration; airplane engines; synchronous motors that are not intended for use in vehicles on land; motors with permanent magnets Boat engines; system for driving a common load made up of two or more synchronous motors connected by clutches; toys with electric motors; “Liniar motors”
Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, has thought about making an electric plane in the past and even stated that he has a design for an electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. However, he stated that Tesla is currently concentrating more on ground vehicles.
Or if nothing else until battery energy thickness has worked on to the point of making them reasonable (no less than 400 Wh/kg is required by Musk).
TESLA stock is up 4.69 percent in midday trading on Wednesday.
