Budrigannews.com – In a series of homicides that have rocked the region in Northern California, Stockton, California, police announced on Saturday that they had made an arrest for a man who is suspected of killing six people.

According to Stockton Police Chief Stanley McFadden, authorities were able to watch a man and stop him while he was driving in the city in the early hours of Saturday morning thanks to tips and investigation.

McFadden said at a news conference that the man, who was wearing dark clothing, had a mask around his neck, and had a gun when police stopped him, was “on a mission to kill.”

He continued, “We are certain we stopped another killing.”

Wesley Brownlee, 43, was identified as the suspect by McFadden. Authorities announced earlier this month that forensic ballistics evidence has established a connection between the shootings, which began last year and continued into September.

According to Tori Verber Salazar, the San Joaquin County District Attorney, the suspect will appear in court on Tuesday. The evidence was being reviewed by the office.

Six people were killed, all of them in the Stockton area, with the exception of one. One victim survived her injuries.

The killing spree could be the work of a serial killer “on a mission,” according to police, who released a surveillance video of a person of interest on October 4 but did not provide a motive.

More than 300,000 people live in Stockton, a city 60 miles east of San Francisco in California’s central valley.
