The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), which introduced Lean Hog futures contracts in 1966, is where Lean Hog futures and options are traded. The contracts call for cash settlement based on the CME Lean Hog Index, which is a two-day weighted average of cash markets. They are for 40,000 pounds of Lean Hogs.
The contract’s minimum tick size is $0.025 per pound, and the value of each tick is $10 USD. The contract’s price limits are set at $0.0375 per pound above or below the settlement price of the previous day, with the exception of the expiring month contract, which has no daily price limits for the past two Trading Days.
