Kenneth Griffin’s Citadel earns Record profit
Budrigannews.com – The Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday, citing people familiar with the matter, that Reu-Kenneth Griffin’s Citadel saw record revenues in its hedge fund and electronic-trading businesses for 2022 despite turmoil in global capital markets.
According to the report, Citadel Securities, one of the largest electronic-trading firms in the world, brought in $7.5 billion, while the hedge fund operation generated approximately $28 billion in revenue.
When Reuters inquired about its position on the matter, Citadel did not immediately respond.
A person who was familiar with the situation told Reuters in December that the hedge fund was also anticipated to return approximately $7 billion in profits to investors in the first week of January following a stellar performance in the previous year.
The benchmark fell by about 19% in 2022 due to concerns about interest rate hikes and the Russia-Ukraine conflict, but hedge funds have fared better than other financial institutions.
