The American company Cloudflare offers CDN services, DDoS protection, secure resource access, and DNS servers. Cloudflare services serve as a site’s reverse proxy. The company has offices in London, Singapore, Champaign, Austin, Boston, and Washington, in addition to its main office in San Francisco.
Matthew Prince, Michelle Zeitlin, and Lee Holloway, who had previously worked on Project Honey Pot, founded Cloudflare in 2009. The company started working at the TechCrunch Disrupt conference in September 2010. After the protection of the LulzSec website began in June 2011, Cloudflare became known.
Cloudflare began implementing the “Railgun” technology in conjunction with a few hosters, including HostPapa, in June 2012. On February 11, 2014, the largest DDoS attack with a capacity of 400 Gbit/s was defeated by Cloudflare. Attacks on independent media with a capacity of 500 Gbit/s were recorded by Cloudflare in 2014.
