U. S. Senate wants to ban military action in Iraq

Budrigannews.com – As Congress seeks to reassert its role in determining whether to send troops into combat, the U.S. Senate overwhelmingly approved legislation on Monday to repeal two decades-old authorizations for previous wars in Iraq.

More than the 60 votes required, the vote to limit debate on the measure was 65 to 28, paving the way for a vote on its passage later this week.
