Russia doesn’t like Zelensky’s trip to Washington
Budrigannews.com – The Kremlin stated that the Wednesday trip to Washington by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy would not result in anything positive and that Russia did not anticipate holding peace talks with Kiev.
Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for the Kremlin, told reporters on a call that continuing Western arms supplies to Ukraine would result in a “deepening” of the conflict, which could hurt Kiev.
“The stockpile of weapons proceeds and the scope of provided weapons is extending. Of course, all of this makes the conflict get worse. This doesn’t look good for Ukraine,” Peskov said.
In his first trip outside of Russia since Moscow sent tens of thousands of troops into his country on February 24, Zelenskiy was scheduled to meet with U.S. President Joe Biden and congressional leaders on Wednesday.
Found out if Moscow had any assumptions that something positive could emerge out of Zelenskiy’s excursion, Peskov replied: ” No”.
