Zelensky’s demands for settlement of conflict in Ukraine
Budrigannews.com – Vladimir Zelenskiy, the president of Ukraine, has been actively promoting his 10-point peace plan, discussing it with, among other people, Joe Biden, the president of the United States, and urging world leaders to hold a Global Peace Summit based on it.
An explanation of the plan and world reaction can be found here:
At a summit of the Group of 20 major economies in November, Zelenskiy made his peace plan public for the first time.
The strategy calls for:
1. Radiation and nuclear safety, with an emphasis on restoring safety around Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine, the largest nuclear power plant in Europe, which is currently under Russian occupation.
2. Food security, including safeguarding Ukraine’s grain exports to the poorest countries in the world.
3. Security of the energy supply, with a focus on limiting the price of Russian energy resources and assisting Ukraine in repairing its power infrastructure, of which half has been destroyed by Russian attacks.
4. All detainees and prisoners, including children sent to Russia as prisoners of war, should be released.
5. The restoration of Ukraine’s territorial integrity and Russia’s affirmation of it in accordance with the United Nations Charter, which Zelenskiy stated is “not up to negotiations.”
6. restoration of Ukraine’s state borders with Russia following the withdrawal of Russian troops and the cessation of hostilities.
7. Justice, including the creation of a special tribunal to investigate and prosecute Russian war crimes.
8. Demining and restoring water treatment facilities are the primary goals of environmental protection, ecocide, and ecocide.
9. Building security architecture in the Euro-Atlantic region, including guarantees for Ukraine, and preventing conflict from escalating
10. Affirmation of the conflict’s end, including a report endorsed by the elaborate gatherings.
Zelenskiy appealed to the leaders of the Group of Seven nations in December to support his winter proposal for a Global Peace Summit that would concentrate on the peace plan “as a whole or some specific points in particular.”
This month, Russia rejected Zelenskiy’s peace proposal, and Moscow reiterated on Tuesday that it would not give up any territory it has taken by force, including approximately a fifth of Ukraine that it claims it has annexed.
Presenting his plan to Vice President Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron, and India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whose nation has assumed the presidency of the G20, Zelenskiy has been on a diplomatic flurry.
Countries have rushed to assist Kyiv with demining and repairing the power infrastructure as the Western world’s support for Ukraine’s military has reached billions of dollars, with Washington as the leader of the support.
However, Zelenskiy’s peace plan and proposed peace summit have received cautious responses.
Biden only stated in public remarks that he and Zelenskiy “share the exact same vision” for peace and that the United States is committed to ensuring that Ukraine is able to defend itself during Zelenskiy’s visit to Washington on December 22.

“In line with its rights enshrined in the U.N. Charter,” the G7 leaders pledged to bring peace to Ukraine.
Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, stated that peace talks are unlikely anytime soon.
He stated at the end of December, “I do believe that the military confrontation will continue, and I think we’ll have still to wait for a moment when serious negotiations for peace will be possible.”
