World’s only aquarium exploded in Berlin
Budrigannews.com – An aquarium in Berlin that held approximately 1,500 exotic fish burst early on Friday, requiring approximately 100 emergency personnel to rush to an inner-city leisure complex.
On Twitter, Berlin police stated, “In addition to the unbelievable maritime damage… two people were injured by glass splinters.”
According to the website of the DomAquaree complex, which also includes a Radisson hotel, a museum, shops, and restaurants, it was the largest freestanding cylindrical aquarium in the world at 14 meters (46 feet) in height.

Due to the large volume of water that had flooded out of the building, emergency services had to close a major road that runs next to the complex and goes from Alexanderplatz in Berlin to the Brandenburg Gate.
Outside the complex, there was trash all over the road and sidewalks.
Police said on Twitter that buses were sent to the complex to provide shelter for hotel guests leaving the building. The outside temperature in Berlin was around -7 degrees Celsius (19.4 degrees Fahrenheit).
