World’s Largest NFT.NYC Conference Returned To New York
The largest non-fungible token event in the world, NFT.NYC kicked off in New York for the fourth time on Monday. Named the SuperBowl of the NFT industry the conference is scheduled to take place until June 23 and plans to attract up to 15,000 attendees. Nearly 3 times more compared to the past year.
NFT.NYC, where the NFT creators and entrepreneurs convene to see the latest initiatives and innovations, started in New York back in 2019. Today it is a hotbed of the NFT industry and one most awaited events for the NFT community, which attracts thousands of entrepreneurs, developers, creators, investors, and non-fungible token enthusiasts.
Reportedly, over 1500 NFT community members are planning to speak at the NFT.NYC this year, presenting new ideas, and technologies and launching initiatives to thousands of visitors.
The impressive number of speakers is one of the unique features of NFT.NYC this year, which came as a result of the organizers’ experiment to give a voice and 10 minutes on stage to anyone with a “good story and thought leadership”.
According to the founder of the NFT superconference Jodee Rich, the open mic format and the ability to have a voice attracted massive interest from the NFT space. Over 3.500 speakers from more than 46 countries had applied for the possibility to share their insights and experiences.
Celebrates Diversity
The main spotlight of the event is set towards the diversity of NFTs, say the organizers. The conference and hundreds of its satellite discussions, meetups and pop-up community events held across 7 venues in New York will shift its focus on the variety of NFTs across 16 different sectors including art, music, games, sports, social media, fashion and films.
Reportedly, all four days of the event will host NFT progress discussions, platform creation insights and debates on the NFT future. A big part of the speeches will be dedicated to NFT branding, marketing and investing topics.
In the meantime, New Yorkers will be able to face the digital artworks of 221 selected NFT artists, as the dedicated collection will be displayed on multiple billboards across Times Square throughout the event.
In collaboration with 221 Community Artists, we are very excited to launch “The https://t.co/1IrDLHe1py 2022 Diversity of NFTs Art Collection”.Artworks will be displayed on Times Square and throughout the event. Some pieces will be available to mint.https://t.co/cup0e2EYF7

As of the second day of the event, NFT.NYC team will host its second Annual NFT Awards ceremony, supported by the partners OpenSea, APENFT, and NFT.Kred.
The winners of the multiple NFT Awards categories will be revealed later on Tuesday. Nearly 18.5K of NFT community members have already voted on more than 1800 nominees.
NFT Market Slipped
The SuperBowl of the NFTs, however, comes in times when the whole non-fungible token market is far from its days of glory. The NFT sales have dropped by nearly 150% since April and the average price of the NFT is more than 65% down in less than two months, according to the data of CryptoSlam NFT tracker.
Google (NASDAQ:GOOGL) search interest in NFTs has dropped to severe lows, with search rates declining by more than 70% in May. The decline in global interest in NFTs can be attributed to the broader financial meltdown, caused by the historic inflation, increasing energy costs and tightening monetary policies across the globe.
