Budrigannews.com – Activist investor Irenic Capital Management, which owns a $150 million stake in News Corp, wrote to the company asking its special committee to evaluate the deal with Fox Corp to “maximize value to examine alternatives to a merger with Fuchs.”
In a letter dated 20 November, Irenic said the merger with Fox was not in line with News Corp’s strategic goals.
In October, media mogul Rupert Murdoch proposed reunifying his media empire after nearly a decade by merging News Corp and Fox Corp. The companies said they had formed a special committee to evaluate the proposal.
