We will not repeat financial mistakes of 2008-UK
Budrigannews.com – The financial services reforms that the British finance minister Jeremy Hunt announced on Friday would not result in a repeat of the regulatory mistakes that contributed to the global financial crisis of 2008.
At a Financial Times-hosted event, he stated, “It is perfectly sensible to make pragmatic changes such as the ones that we’re announcing today.”
“However, we’re doing so very, very carefully to make sure that the UK is a competitive and exciting place to live and invest, and also to make sure that we don’t lose the safeguards we put in place after 2008.”
