Ukraine declares death of civilians after Russian shelling
By Kristina Sobol
Budrigannews.com – The SBU security service in Ukraine reported on Saturday that Russian shelling of a civilian convoy in the “grey zone” between Ukrainian-controlled and Russian-controlled territory in eastern Ukraine at the end of September resulted in the deaths of 20 civilians.
It said in a statement that the shelling between occupied Svatove in the Luhansk region and Ukrainian-held Kupiansk, which Kyiv captured in the Kharkiv region a month ago, had killed seven vehicles.
According to Russian state media, Russian-installed officials in Ukraine’s eastern region on Thursday accused Kyiv of shelling a convoy of refugees being evacuated from the Kharkiv region and killing approximately 30 civilians.
Whether they were referring to the same convoy was not immediately clear.
