Budrigannews.com – After U.S. President Joe Biden ruled out providing F-16s, Kyiv’s allies are debating whether to provide fighter jets for its war against Russia. On Tuesday, Ukraine’s defense minister is expected to meet President Emmanuel Macron in Paris.

According to the general staff of Ukraine, Russia had launched three missile and air strikes within the past 24 hours, one of which had targeted Kharkiv in the northeast of the country. It also stated that it is continuing offensive operations in other parts of eastern Ukraine, including Bakhmut and Avdiivka.

Vuhledar and Blahodatne, a village just north of Bakhmut, were said to have been attacked by Ukraine. Denis Pushilin, the administrator of parts of Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk province that are under Russian control, claimed that Russian troops had established a foothold in Vuhledar.

After reports suggested that he is considering a trip to Europe to coincide with the Feb. 24 anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, U.S. President Joe Biden stated that he will visit Poland but did not specify when.

According to the Belarusian defense ministry, Russia and Belarus have begun a week-long staff training session for the joint command of their regional grouping of forces.

After stating that Russians might be able to qualify for the Olympics in Paris in 2024, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) came under fire from Ukrainian officials on Monday for allegedly encouraging war.

During a rare foreign leader visit to a war-torn region, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy met Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen in the southern city of Mykolaiv.

During his visit to Japan on Tuesday, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg will meet with Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. During the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, NATO will continue to strengthen its partnership with Japan.

During his first South American tour this week, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz tried unsuccessfully to get support for Ukraine in the face of Russia’s invasion. Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva reiterated his belief that both parties are to blame.

Australia and France announced on Monday that they will work together to produce ammunition for Ukraine. This move is part of an effort by the two nations to strengthen their defense cooperation and move past a disagreement over Canberra’s decision two years ago to abandon plans to purchase French submarines.

According to Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov, the Ukrainian military will spend nearly $550 million on drones in 2023 and has already signed 16 supply agreements with Ukrainian manufacturers.

According to Defence Minister Ben Wallace, though he did not provide a specific timetable, Britain’s donated tanks to Ukraine will be deployed prior to summer.

Dmitry Peskov, a spokesperson for the Kremlin, stated that providing Ukraine with additional Western weapons would exacerbate the conflict and further engage NATO members.

President Zelenskiy stated:

“The sooner Russia’s aggression will end and the more reliable security guarantees will be for Ukraine and all our partners after the war, the more defense support our heroes at the front receive from the world,”
