UK property market going through hard times
Budrigannews.com – In November, British retail sales unexpectedly fell monthly, possibly indicating the stress many households are experiencing as the cost-of-living crisis eats into their finances.
After a 0.9% increase in October, retail sales volumes decreased by 0.4% in November. This was a rebound from September, when sales were impacted by a one-time public holiday to mark Queen Elizabeth’s funeral.
Economists polled by Reuters had predicted a 0.3% increase from October.
More Retail sales collapsed in US-report
GfK, a market research company, stated earlier on Friday that British consumer confidence increased this month but was still close to all-time lows.
The Office for National Statistics reported that retail sales in November were 5.9% lower than a year earlier, which was slightly lower than anticipated.
