UK condemns Iran for executions of protesters
Budrigannews.com – On Saturday, British foreign minister James Cleverly urged Iran to “immediately end the violence against its own people” and condemned Iran’s execution of two protesters.
Cleverly tweeted, “The Iranian regime’s execution of Mohammad Mahdi Karami and Seyed Mohammad Hosseini is abhorrent.” In every circumstance, the UK strongly opposes the death penalty.”
The two men were hanged in Iran for allegedly killing a security guard during nationwide protests that began following the death of 22-year-old Kurdish Iranian woman Mahsa Amini in September of last year.
