(Reuters) – U.S. Representative Fred Upton of Michigan has decided to retire and not seek re-election in 2022, Politico reported on Tuesday, citing four people familiar with the Republican lawmaker’s decision.
Upton was one of 10 Republican members of the U.S. House of Representatives who voted to impeach then-President Donald Trump after the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack.
