U. S. did not give answer after checking airspace of Mexico

Budrigannews.com – Mexico’s transportation ministry announced on Friday that, more than two years after the nation was stripped of its top air rating, U.S. aviation regulators had completed a review of the country’s airspace safety but had not yet made a final decision.
In a statement, the transportation ministry said that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in the United States still has several weeks to decide whether Mexico will recover the rating.
In 2021, the FAA downgraded Mexico’s aviation safety rating to Category 2, citing safety issues that prevented Mexican airlines from adding new flights to the United States.
The FAA has audited Mexico’s local civil aviation authority to ensure that it complies with international safety standards since the country lost the rating.
Earlier on Friday, a government source told Reuters that Mexico’s “last” audit resulted in a positive outcome.
El Financiero, a Mexican newspaper, had previously reported, citing government sources, that Mexico had already recovered its safety rating. However, a short time later, the newspaper reversed its initial report.
If the FAA were to restore its Category 1 safety rating, airlines like Aeromexico and Volaris would be able to operate marketing agreements with U.S. airlines and establish new routes to the United States.
Last year, Aeromexico CEO Andres Conesa stated that the downgrade had caused “significant” damage.
Mexico has revamped its aviation standards, replaced officials, and most recently, revised its civil aviation law in the two years since the FAA downgraded the country to Category 2.
Requested to remark on Mexico’s air wellbeing rating, a FAA representative would just agree that the organization proceeds “to give help to Mexico’s polite flight authority.”
