Twitter begins to unblock users, possibly Trump
Budrigannews.com – Elon Musk has revived the accounts of US comedian Kathy Griffin and academic scholar Jordan Peterson, adding that no decision has yet been made to regain the accounts of former President Donald Trump.
Musk confirmed the move in a tweet, adding that the satirical website Babylon Bee’s account has also been revived.
The new billionaire owner misspelled Griffin and Peterson’s names in his tweets.
Musk said he would reverse Twitter’s ban on Trump, where accounts on social media platforms were suspended after an attack on the US Congress last year.
The chief of Tesla (NASDAQ:) Inc said earlier this month that Twitter users who engage in impersonation without explicitly specifying it as a “parody” account will be permanently suspended without warning.
The comment came as Griffin’s account was banned earlier this month after the US comedian changed her name to Elon Musk. The #FreeKathy hashtag was circulating on Twitter later.
Twitter had also suspended its recently announced blue8blue check subscription service last Friday because of a surge in fake accounts.
The fake accounts claiming to be big brands also included Musk’s Tesla and SpaceX, Roblox, Nestle and Lockheed Martin (NYSE:) accounts.
