Budrigannews.com – Thursday, Turkey’s maritime authority stated that insurance checks on ships in its waters were a “routine procedure” and that it would continue to prevent oil tankers without the appropriate insurance letters from entering its waters.

Shipping has been delayed as a result of a Turkish measure in effect since the beginning of the month. When making calls at Turkish ports or transiting through the Bosphorus strait, vessels are required to provide proof of insurance.
