Trump will start nominating Republicans for election this weekend

Budrigannews.com – This weekend, Donald Trump will make two campaign stops in important early-voting states, more than two months after he announced his intention to run for the Republican nomination in 2024.

The appearances in New Hampshire and South Carolina are an opportunity to address complaints from fellow Republicans that his planned rematch with Democratic President Joe Biden has started slowly. However, they may also show that the party is losing control.

Trump is expected to attend an event at the state capitol with key allies from South Carolina, including U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham and Governor Henry McMaster; however, some other well-known Republicans are refusing to attend. They include former Governor Nikki Haley and U.S. Senator Tim Scott, both of whom may have their own aspirations for the White House.

According to interviews with a dozen party officials, donors, and strategists this week, that is a sign that some important Republican donors and activists, including Haley and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, are looking for other options to challenge an anticipated re-election campaign for Biden.

One person who played a significant role in Trump’s previous campaigns in South Carolina stated, “I do not hear any state elected officials or big donors too excited about Trump.” DeSantis and Haley are the names I hear them excited about.

A little more than a year out from the beginning of the party nomination contests, Trump has significant advantages going into his campaign. He consistently leads Republican voters in polls, and his name recognition is greatly enhanced by his turbulent four years in the White House.

Even though his primary fundraising vehicle, Save America, is registered to fund Trump’s political allies but not his own campaigns, he has been a prodigious fundraiser ever since he left office.

Observer groups have already made the claim that Trump used his Save America fund in an illegal way to support his presidential campaign.

In November, the nonpartisan Campaign Legal Center asked the Federal Election Commission to investigate Save America’s transfer of funds to Make America Great Again Inc, or MAGA Inc. This registered independent super PAC, which is staffed by former Trump aides and is expected to spend money supporting Trump’s campaign, was asked to investigate Save America’s transfer of funds.

Prior to the election on November 8, MAGA Inc. received at least $60 million from Save America. In addition, the super PAC reported spending more than $15 million supporting Republican Senate candidates in the midterm elections.

However, MAGA Inc. reported having $54 million in cash as of Nov. 28, and approximately $40 million of Save America’s contributions were made after the super PAC had largely completed its election spending. By the same date, Save America reported having approximately $21 million in the bank.

Trump’s official campaign, which he launched on Nov. 15, has yet to submit financial disclosures to the federal government. It has until January 31 to provide information to regulators until the end of 2022.

“We’ll see how everything plays out. Rob Jesmer, a former executive director of the Republicans’ Senate campaign arm and a campaign strategist, stated, “But I think it’ll be dominated by DeSantis and Trump for a while.”

The notion that he was losing support within the party was dismissed by Trump’s own campaign.

Steven Cheung, a spokesperson for the president, stated, “President Trump is going to South Carolina to unveil his leadership team, which will show the significant support he has throughout the state, from grassroots leaders to elected officials.” Anyone who doubts President Trump’s leadership of the Republican Party is simply living in a false reality.”

Scott has a prior commitment that prevents him from attending the event on Saturday, according to his spokesperson. Haley recently revealed to Fox News that she is thinking about running for the White House on her own.

A spokesperson for U.S. Representative Ralph Norman stated that he would not attend due to a pre-existing conflict, while representatives of three other prominent elected South Carolina House Republicans did not respond.

According to spokespersons, Congressmen Joe Wilson and Russell Fry will be present.

In order to discuss internal party dynamics, a number of Republicans interviewed for this article were granted anonymity. They stated that they would be keeping an eye on Trump to see if he can deliver a message that looks to the future or if he will resort to personal attacks or false claims of election fraud, which many people blame for the poor Republican performance in the midterm congressional elections in November.

“The primary concern is: a Republican official who is familiar with the Trump team’s inner workings stated:

“is he going to talk about the future or is he just going to talk about the’stolen election.'” You must shift your focus to the future.”
