Trump will start election campaign from South Carolina

Budrigannews.com – His campaign announced on Tuesday that Republican former President Donald Trump will make the first public appearance of his 2024 presidential campaign on Jan. 28 in the early voting state of South Carolina, where he first announced his candidacy in November.
According to the announcement, Governor Henry McMaster and U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, one of Trump’s most steadfast backers, will join Trump at the State House in Columbia to present his campaign’s state leadership team.
Because it was one of the first states to hold presidential nominating contests during election years, South Carolina has a significant impact.
Trump’s statewide victory in 2016, when South Carolina was the third state after Iowa and New Hampshire, helped establish him as the Republican front-runner. After a poor showing in the first two contests for the nomination, Democratic President Joe Biden’s victory in the state’s primary in 2020 marked a crucial turning point for his campaign.
With Biden’s support, Democrats have recently taken steps to hold their first primary in South Carolina in 2024. This is in part because party leaders think Iowa, which has traditionally been the lead-off state, is too white to represent the entire electorate.
For the first three states, Republicans have decided to continue the traditional order: South Carolina, Iowa, and New Hampshire follow.
Since officially declaring his candidacy for president in November, Trump has only made brief appearances in front of invited guests at his Florida estate, Mar-a-Lago.
It is thought that former Governor Nikki Haley and U.S. Senator Tim Scott, both Republicans from South Carolina, could be contenders for the Republican nomination for president in 2024.
