Tony Hawk Teams Up With the Sandbox to Build Metaverse’s Largest Skatepark

Skateboard legend Tony Hawk is the freshest celebrity to enter the Web3.0. On July 13th, Mr. Hawk announced a partnership with Autograph and the Sandbox to build the ‘biggest skatepark’ in the digital world.

What to Expect in Hawk’s Digital Skatepark
The virtual land of the Sandbox will consist of 36 plots. First of all, the Sandbox players will be able to customize their experience with editing tools made in collaboration between a pro skateboarder and the top developers.
Secondly, there will be a marketplace uniting skateboarding enthusiasts and metaverse players. You can expect some NFT collectibles from Hawk himself, as he has already released The Last Trick NFT collection in partnership with Autograph late last year.
Thirdly, this is not the first time Tony Hawk is digging into Web3. This time, Autograph is working to mint NFTs out of Tony Hawk’s career highlights, skateboards, merchandise and other accessories.
Dillion Rosenblatt, the CEO of Autograph, is excited about another partnership with the Hawk: ‘At Autograph, we strive to build otherwise impossible experiences for communities of fans and this is a step towards our goal of connecting them uniquely and at scale to Tony Hawk and each other’.
The Sandbox is Building a Mega City
Another fascinating project by the Sandbox is the forthcoming Mega City. Multiple partnerships with big names from Hong Kong have been signed. The cultural hub is going to consist of the work of many talents that Hong Kong has to offer. The entertainment, music, film industries are all aboard.
However, the Sandbox is not trying to mimic real life Hong Kong, as explained in the official blog post: ‘The soul of Mega City is the talent of Hong Kong. More than a strict metaverse reflection of Hong Kong, Mega City is its expansion into the future, a place of dreams and fun’.

The Sandbox (SAND) is Down by 10% in the Last Week
