The US Treasury may Introduce new regulation of Cryptocurrencies
Budrigannews.com – The latest sign of growing pressure for better regulations following the collapse of crypto exchange FTX was the Tuesday request for assistance in securing legislation to better regulate cryptocurrency by a Democratic senator and chair of a crucial committee.
Sherrod Brown, a senator from Ohio, also urged the Financial Stability Oversight Council (FSOC), a U.S. panel of top financial regulators, to come up with ways to improve crypto asset disclosures and maintain market integrity.
Brown stated, “We draw the correct lessons regarding customer and investor protection, and it is crucial that risks in this area are contained and do not spillover into traditional financial markets and institutions.”
