The unemployment rate in India has risen to 8%
Budrigannews.com – According to data released on Thursday by the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE), India’s unemployment rate increased to 8.0% in November, the highest level in three months, from 7.77% the month before.
According to the data, the rural unemployment rate decreased from 8.04 percent to 7.55 percent in November, while the urban unemployment rate increased to 8.96 percent from 7.21 percent in the previous month.
Since the government does not publish its own monthly figures, economists and policymakers closely monitor the CMIE data.
