T-Mobile problems with Polish regulator
Budrigannews.com – T-Mobile’s Polish unit has been accused by the Polish regulator UOKiK of misleading customers about a free mobile data offer. The company could be hit with a fine of 10% of its annual revenue.
UOKiK said on Monday that T-Mobile Polska’s slogan “1200 GB free for a year” was false because 100 GB Internet packages are given out each month, for a maximum of 12 months, if the customer keeps renewing the offer for at least 35 zlotys ($7.99) each time.
Tomasz Chrostny, head of UOKiK, stated in a statement, “After reading the advertisement, the consumer should have a general, but realistic, idea of the presented offer.”
If the fee is paid on a regular basis, “the T-Mobile promotional slogan may suggest receiving a one-time data package of 1200 GB, rather than a dozen or so smaller packages,”
