Swiss have made it more difficult for Russians to obtain visas

Budrigannews.com – The government announced on Friday that Switzerland would temporarily halt the exchange of tax information with Russia and make it more difficult for Russian citizens to obtain visas.
The world’s largest center for managing offshore wealth regularly shares bank data with other nations regarding the Swiss accounts of their citizens.
According to a brief statement, the cabinet made the decision to suspend the exchange of tax information with Russia at a meeting on Friday. The cabinet cited the public policy provision of the administrative assistance convention in tax matters as the reason for the decision.
It had previously stated that it would completely suspend an agreement that simplifies visa requirements for Russian citizens, aligning Swiss visa requirements for Russians with those of the European Union.
Over Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which Moscow describes as a “special military operation” to disarm its neighbor, neutral Switzerland has adopted nearly all EU sanctions against Russia.
