Sweden hides information about explosion of Nord Stream-Russia

Budrigannews.com – Russia slammed Stockholm for failing to share information in the ongoing investigations into the blasts on Thursday, questioning whether Sweden had “something to hide” regarding the explosions that damaged the Nord Stream gas pipelines last year.
The Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines, which connect Russia and Germany via the Baltic Sea and have become a flashpoint in the Ukraine crisis, are the subject of an investigation by Swedish and Danish authorities.
Maria Zakharova, a spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry, stated that Moscow had a right to know the specifics of the investigation into the explosions, which occurred in September, and that Sweden’s refusal to cooperate with Russian prosecutors was “confusing.”
Moscow suggested to Stockholm the establishment of a joint investigation into the blasts, which could result in the permanent shutdown of three of the four Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas lines. However, the idea of Russian participation has been rejected by Denmark and Sweden.
Thursday, Zakharova said that there were reasons for that decision at a briefing in Moscow.
“Perhaps, in the course of an objective investigation, Russian investigators might arrive at an inconvenient conclusion regarding the person who carried out this act of terrorism and sabotage. about who came up with it and implemented it,” she told reporters.
According to Zakharova, Sweden is “concealing” information regarding the findings of the investigation, implying that “the Swedish authorities have something to hide.”
The attacks were planned, according to Sweden and other European investigators, but they haven’t said who they think was behind them. Moscow has attributed the explosions to Western sabotage without providing evidence.
The Nord Stream 2 pipeline, which was meant to transport gas from Russia to Germany, was completed in September 2021, but Berlin withdrew its certification just days before Moscow sent troops into Ukraine in February.
