Statement US legislator Greene about attack on White house 2021
Budrigannews.com – The rhetoric of Republican U.S. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, who recently stated that the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol would have succeeded and the attackers would have been armed, was denounced by the White House on Monday.
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters, “It is antithetical to our values as a country for a member of Congress to wish that the carnage of Jan. 6 had been even worse, and to brag that they would have succeeded in an armed insurrection against the United States government.”
Jean-Pierre stated, “Violent rhetoric like this is a slap in the face of the Capitol Police, the DC Metropolitan Police, the National Guard, and the families who lost loved ones in the attack on the Capitol.”
In a speech he gave over the weekend to a gala of the New York Young Republicans Club on Park Avenue in Manhattan, Greene made a joke about the attacks on January 6, which led to the deaths of five people and the injuries of more than 100 police officers.

“The event on January 6 took place, and before you know it, Steve Bannon and I had organized the entire thing here. And I’ll tell you something: we would have won if Steve Bannon and I had orchestrated that. In addition, it would have been armed,” Greene said, referring to the former Trump administration adviser.
She also said: Isn’t that the whole point of the joke? I’m like, are you kidding me? They claim that everything was planned. A group of conservatives who support the Second Amendment entered the Capitol without guns, and they believe we organized that? Not in my opinion.”
Greene in a proclamation to CNN on Monday said she was being wry and denied any contribution in the Jan. 6 assault. Greene previewed the Jan. 6 event by inviting people to attend via Twitter.
