Budrigannews.com – (NYSE:) Southwest Airlines A limited fare sale for selected one-way routes was launched by Co on Tuesday, just a few days after the airline experienced massive flight disruptions in December.

For some one-way routes, the airline said, prices will start at $49, and passengers will need to make their reservations 21 days in advance.

Due to a tech glitch, Southwest had to cancel more than 16,000 flights during the busy holiday season, leaving passengers stranded and drawing the attention of the US government.

Following the flurry of cancellations, BofA Global Research lowered its price target for the company’s shares on Tuesday by $3 to $42.

Even as he raised price targets for a few other U.S. airlines, BofA analyst Andrew Didora stated, “The bigger near-term risk, in our view, is whether Southwest sees the need to stimulate demand with lower fares in the event customers book ‘away’ to other airlines.”
