Saudi Arabia calls on Israel to resolve the Palestinian conflict

Budrigannews.com – Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, the foreign minister of Saudi Arabia, urged the new Israeli government on Wednesday to seriously work toward resolving the Palestinian issue.
Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Prince Faisal said that Israel’s government was sending “some signals that maybe are not conducive to that.” However, he expressed hope that the government would realize that resolving the conflict would be in Israel’s and the region’s best interests.
After normalization pacts with the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain are signed in 2020, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has pledged to pursue formal ties with Riyadh. However, Saudi Arabia has linked any such move to a resolution of Palestinian statehood goals.
