RxPreferred collaborates with Mark Cuban startups

Budrigannews.com – The pharmaceuticals startup founded by billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban has partnered with pharmacy benefits manager RxPreferred Benefits, the two companies announced on Wednesday, in an effort to lower drug prices through some employer-sponsored health insurance plans.
Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drugs charges a standard markup on each drug it sells and offers generic medications through direct contracts with manufacturers.
Customers of RxPreferred Benefits will be able to use Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drugs as part of their health insurance plans as a result of the partnership.
According to a statement released by Cuban, “our partnership with RxPreferred is another step in the direction of bringing transparency to healthcare and lowering drug costs for individuals and families across the country.”
In December, Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drugs collaborated with EmsanaRx, a nonprofit organization founded by nearly 40 companies, including Walmart (NYSE:) in the United States. as well as Costco (NASDAQ: that provides employers with a PBM service.
PBMs negotiate prescription drug prices by acting as an intermediary between pharmacies, health insurance plans, and drug manufacturers.
