Russian’s Medvedev to meet Xi to discuss Ukraine
Budrigannews.com – Dmitry Medvedev, the former president of Russia, has made an unexpected trip to Beijing. He said he talked to Chinese President Xi Jinping about the conflict in Ukraine.
Medvedev, who is now deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council, shared a video on his Telegram channel that showed him greeting Xi, smiling for pictures, and holding a meeting with officials from both China and Russia.
Medvedev claimed that he and Xi had discussed Ukraine as well as the “no limits” strategic partnership between the two nations. He did not elaborate further.
“We talked about bilateral cooperation within our strategic partnership, including on the economy and industrial production, between the two ruling parties of China and Russia. Medvedev stated, “We also discussed international issues, of course, the conflict in Ukraine.”
He added, “The talks were useful.”
After receiving a slew of Western sanctions for its February invasion of Ukraine, which Moscow describes as “a special military operation,” Russia accelerated its move toward Beijing.

Russia sees Xi as a potential ally in an anti-Western coalition and wants to strengthen economic, political, and security ties with China to make up for the loss of similar Western ties.
