Russian missile killed at least 10 civilians-Ukraine
Budrigannews.com – Authorities said a Russian strike on Ukraine’s recently retaken city of Kherson resulted in the deaths of at least 10 people, the injuries of another 58, and bloodied bodies on the road. Kyiv condemned the strike as willful killing for pleasure.
President Volodymyr Zelenskiy recently returned from a trip to the United States in search of weapons to ward off the 10-month Russian invasion. While there, he published images of burned-out vehicles, broken windows, and bodies littering the streets.
“These pictures will probably be marked as “sensitive content” on social networks. However, he wrote, “This is the real life of Ukrainians and Ukraine, and it is not sensitive content.”
“These are not military facilities… It is terror, and it is killing for the sake of intimidation and pleasure,” the statement reads.
According to the Interfax Ukraine news agency, Kherson regional governor Yaroslav Yanushevych told national television that the death toll had increased to 10 from the seven previously reported.
According to deputy chair of the regional council Yuriy Sobolevskyi, a missile hit a supermarket near the city’s Freedom Square.
He remarked, “There were civilians there, each of whom lived their own life, went about their own business,” pointing to a girl selling phone Sim cards, others unloading cargo from a truck, and people walking by.
There was no communication from Moscow, where President Vladimir Putin claims that his troops are resisting a Western threat to Russia’s security and fighting fascism in Ukraine.
Russia denies using civilians as targets.
The reports from Kherson could not be independently verified by Reuters.
Since Russia’s February 24 invasion, Ukraine regained control of the city in November. Kyiv claims that Russian forces have bombarded the city heavily since then from across the vast Dnipro River.
Ukraine has driven Russian forces out of the vicinity of Kyiv and Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, since February. About a fifth of Ukraine’s southern and eastern occupied areas are Moscow’s current focus.
According to Kyrylo Tymoshenko, a aide to the president, the attack was launched by a Grad multiple rocket launcher.
Mykhailo Podolyak, another aide, criticized those who want Kyiv to negotiate peace with Russia, pointing to Moscow’s unrelenting assault on Ukraine’s power grid since October.
Officials in Ukraine say that Moscow has already fired over 1,000 rockets at the power grid. They also say that Moscow has warned of a harsh winter with a lot of power and water pumping capacity shortages, making it hard for most Ukrainian homes to use central heating.
“I’ll remind those who propose to take Russian “peace” initiatives into consideration: this moment Russia is ‘arranging,’ killing Kherson occupants, clearing out Bakhmut, obliterating Kyiv/Odesa networks, tormenting regular folks in Melitopol,” Podolyak composed.
“Russia wants to kill without being caught. Will we permit it?”

An earlier message from the city’s blood bank requesting immediate donations had been shared by Yanushevych.
According to Ukraine’s prime minister, Kyiv was still recovering from Monday’s missile attacks, which disrupted half of the city’s power supply into the following day.
