Russia will fight in Ukraine for a long time-Putin
Budrigannews.com – On Wednesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that while his army could fight in Ukraine for a long time, he didn’t think it was necessary to raise more troops at this point.
Putin used his preferred term to describe the Russian invasion, which is now in its tenth month, and stated, “As for the duration of the special military operation, well, of course, this can be a long process.”
After the call-up of 300,000 reservists in September and October, he stated, however, that a second round of mobilization made “no sense” at this point.
According to Putin, 150,000 of those were currently stationed in Ukraine. He stated that of those, 77,000 were in combat units, with the remaining performing defensive duties.
During a televised annual session of his Human Rights Council, Putin lashed out at Western human rights groups for considering Russia “a second-class country that has no right to exist at all.”
Putin stated, “This is what we are dealing with.” A constant struggle for our national interests is the only response from our side. We’ll carry out that. And nobody should rely on anything else.
He went on to say: Yes, we will accomplish this in a variety of ways. Naturally, our first priority will be peaceful means, but if nothing else is available, we will defend ourselves with all available means.”
A member of the rights council said that Ukrainian forces were shelling residential areas in the Russian-controlled Donetsk region. This was Putin’s response.
Throughout the war, a lot of civilians have died in Ukraine. Russia denies using civilians as targets.
