Russia claims capture of Ukrainian city of Soledar and heavy losses of mercenaries

Budrigannews.com – On Wednesday, the head of Russia’s private military firm Wagner claimed that his forces had completely “liberated” the mining town of Soledar in eastern Ukraine, killing approximately 500 pro-Ukraine troops.
Vladimir Zelenskiy, the president of Ukraine, had made fun of Russian claims to have previously controlled a portion of the town and stated that fighting was continuing.
Yevgeny Prigozhin, the head of Wagner, said on Tuesday that his troops had taken control of Soledar, but that battles were still going on in the city center. He didn’t say anything on Wednesday about the ongoing fights.
He released a statement in which he stated, “I want to confirm the complete liberation and cleansing of the territory of Soledar from units of the Ukrainian army… Ukrainian units that did not want to surrender were destroyed.”
“About 500 people were killed by Wagner forces. The bodies of Ukrainian soldiers are all over the city.”
