Russia arrests a US citizen Paul Whelan
Budrigannews.com – According to White House national security spokesman John Kirby (NYSE:), the United States is “deeply concerned” about American detainee Paul Whelan in Russia but has not been able to obtain information about his whereabouts or condition from Moscow on Wednesday, said.
After Whelan’s family said this week that they hadn’t heard from former Marine Paul Whelan since Nov. 23, but had seen reports that he had been moved to the prison hospital, Kirby addressed the issue.
“We have been trying to find out more about Mr. Whelan’s condition and where he is,” the statement reads.In addition, “we regrettably do not have an update specifically about where he is or what condition he is in as we speak this morning,” Kirby informed reporters during a phone briefing.
Kirby went on to say, “That deeply concerns us, and we certainly share the anxiety and concern of the land and family.”We are working as hard as we can through diplomatic channels to address the lack of information and contact from Paul. We are deeply concerned about this.”
