Russia accuses West of direct interference in war in Ukraine

Budrigannews.com – On Thursday, Russia said that it saw the promised delivery of Western tanks to Ukraine as evidence of the growing and direct involvement of the United States and Europe in the conflict.

The United States and Germany’s announcements on Wednesday that they would supply Ukraine with dozens of battle tanks for its fight against Russia prompted the Kremlin to respond for the first time.

Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for the Kremlin, stated:

“There are constant statements from European capitals and Washington that the sending of various weapons systems to Ukraine, including tanks, in no way signifies the involvement of these countries or the alliance in hostilities in Ukraine.”

“We categorically disagree with this, and Moscow views everything the alliance and the mentioned capitals are doing as direct involvement in the conflict.” We can see this getting bigger.

According to U.S. President Joe Biden, the tanks are necessary for the Ukrainians to “improve their ability to manoeuvre in open terrain,” and they pose “no offensive threat” to Russia.

Ukraine has been looking for hundreds of modern tanks to form a “fist of freedom,” as President Volodymyr Zelenskiy referred to it, that could provide its troops with the firepower they need to break through Russian defensive lines and reclaim occupied territory in the south and east. Ukraine and Russia have primarily used T-72 tanks from the Soviet era up until this point.

Russia has increasingly portrayed the conflict as a confrontation with NATO since it invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2014.

Nikolai Patrushev, a close ally of President Vladimir Putin and secretary of his Security Council, was quoted as saying on Thursday, “The course of the special military operation in Ukraine shows that the U.S. and NATO intend to continue making efforts to drag out this military conflict and have become its participants.” Patrushev is a close ally of Putin.

He was quoted by the Interfax news agency as saying, “The Anglo-Saxon world will not stop the proxy war against Russia and its allies even with the end of the ‘hot phase’ of the conflict in Ukraine.”

Russian military commentators focused a lot of their attention on the German-made Leopard tanks, which Berlin and other European NATO members are about to send to Ukraine. They called them a threat, but they weren’t going to change the game.

“The Leopard’s stealth is similar to that of its living feline relative. This tank may be the most camouflaged, making it difficult to spot even from the air. According to Semyon Pegov, a war correspondent, “attacking it from a distance presents certain difficulties.” However, there are no indestructible tanks in nature.”

Yuri Kotenok, another war blogger, stated that Western tanks were not a “wonder weapon” and would necessitate a shift in Russian strategy.

He stated:

“It’s necessary to saturate our units directly on the front line with additional hand-held and mounted anti-tank weapons and grenade launchers to mine tank-dangerous areas.”

The promised tanks should not be taken lightly, according to lawmaker and retired military officer Andrei Gurulev, as Western models are equipped to “see beyond the horizon” to select targets.

He said:

“Such various tanks isn’t fit for reversing the situation for an enormous scope front. Indeed, this is an unmistakable danger, however it should be battled all over the place,”
