Roche new CEO old promoted
Budrigannews.com – The pharmaceutical giant announced on Monday that it had appointed Thomas Schinecker to the position of group chief executive. Schinecker will succeed Severin Schwan, whom the company had nominated to be its next chairman.
The move marks the culmination of Schinecker’s meteoric rise since joining Roche’s management development program in 2003. Previously, he headed the diagnostics division of the company.
Schwan’s 14-year tenure as CEO comes to an end with the changes, which take effect on March 14, 2023, following Roche’s annual general meeting.

However, Schwan stated in July, the moves, which were first made public earlier this year, would not alter the strategic weight of the diagnostics and pharmaceuticals businesses.
Roche announced on Monday that Christoph Franz has decided not to run for chairman again, as previously stated in July 2022.

In addition, the business stated that Bill Anderson, CEO of Roche Pharmaceuticals and member of the Corporate Executive Committee, had made the decision to leave Roche on December 31, 2022.
When he hands over his diagnostics job to Matt Sause, Schinecker will take his place temporarily.
