Republicans are launching an investigation against Biden and his administration
Budrigannews.com – Republicans in the U.S. House have identified 42 employees from the White House and administration of Democratic President Joe Biden.
There are the following: 18 letters to White House Chief of Staff Ron Crane and other administration officials, as well as 19 Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee, said testimony was needed on issues including border security, school board threats and allegations of bias within the FBI and Justice Department.
There was no immediate reaction from the White House.
“We look forward to your free cooperation in arranging for the committee to receive testimony,” the Republican Party, led by the incoming Committee chairman Jim Jordan, wrote in a letter to Crane.
Similar letters were sent to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland, Fbi Director Christopher Wray, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mallorca, and Education Secretary Miguel Cardona.
The letter represents the House Judiciary Committee’s first testimony and document request since Republicans won a narrower-than-expected House majority on Wednesday.
Testimony can be taken at hearings or transcribed interviews, lawmakers said.
Jordan, a hardline conservative and staunch ally of former President Donald Trump, told reporters that allegations of political bias by the FBI and Justice Department would be a major focus of his panel’s investigation.
Trump has been impeached by Congress under Democrats 2020 over allegations that he pressured Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskiy to investigate Biden and his son ahead of the 2nd presidential election. 6, 2021, attacks on the U.S. Capitol.
Angered by the FBI’s seizure of classified documents from Trump’s Florida home on May 8, Republicans accuse the Biden administration of politicizing the FBI and Justice Department.
They also said U.S. law enforcement targeted parents who opposed COVID-19 obligations in schools and blamed Biden for the flood of immigrants crossing the U.S.-Mexico border.
On Thursday, the incoming Republican chairman of the House Oversight and Reform Committee said his panel would make investigating the business dealings of Biden and his family a top priority.
The judicial and oversight investigations are expected to be among a raft of Republican investigations into Biden and his administration next year. The list of research topics also includes China, the origin of the COVID-19 pandemic, and biden’s chaotic withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan on 8 May 2021.
