Republican requests for investigation into Biden rejected
Budrigannews.com – The White House advised Republicans who want to conduct an investigation into President Joe Biden on Thursday that their requests for information for investigations, including those into the withdrawal from Afghanistan, are inappropriate until those lawmakers take control of the House next month.
Richard Sauber, Biden’s special counsel, informed two Republican lawmakers who are anticipated to hold high-ranking oversight positions in the upcoming Congress that they do not currently have authority and will need to redo requests for materials they have already sent to the White House once they take control of Congress.
In separate letters, Sauber informed Representatives James Comer and Jim Jordan that their demands “were not made as part of the congressional oversight process” and that they would not be honored at this time.
Documents regarding investigations into the United States’ withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021 were requested by lawmakers; the beginnings of the COVID-19 pandemic, which began during the administration that came before it; and the way the federal government dealt with threats against members of local school boards over curriculum disputes and restrictions from the pandemic.
“We will review and respond to them in good faith, consistent with the needs and obligations of both branches,” Sauber wrote. “Should the Committee issue similar or other requests in the 118th Congress.” We expect the new Congress will embrace its oversight obligations in a similar soul of pure intentions.”
The Democratic president and his son Hunter’s business dealings have also been prioritized by Republicans, who will take control of the House of Representatives next month.
Liberals, who hold control of the White House and Senate, are attempting to challenge those examinations forcefully.
The House Oversight and Reform Committee is expected to be led by Comer, a Republican from Kentucky. The judiciary panel is expected to be led by Jordan, a Republican from Ohio. In the event of rejection, both have threatened legal action.

“Continue pressing for the answers, transparency, and accountability that the American people deserve,” Comer said in a statement, implying that Biden had not kept his promises to be transparent. In a tweet, House Judiciary Republicans referred to the most recent development as “ridiculous.”
Biden’s legal counselors and Popularity based partners have excused the examinations as politically inspired, in conflict with citizens’ needs and attempted to situate the tests as outrageous.
