Putin and Chinese Xi to hold talks on Friday
Budrigannews.com – On Friday, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping will talk via video link about a lot of issues between the two countries and in the region.
“First of all, they will talk about bilateral relations between Russia and China,” Dmitry Peskov, a spokesperson for the Kremlin, told reporters on Thursday.
Peskov continued, “And, of course, it will be very important to exchange views on more acute regional problems – those that are closer to us, Russia, and those that are closer to China,” omitting any specifics.
Since deploying military forces into Ukraine in February, Moscow has sought to strengthen its economic, political, and security ties with Beijing. A few days before Russia launched the campaign, the two nations entered into a strategic partnership with “no limits.”
Since European nations cut ties with Russia, Beijing has also increased its purchases of Russian oil and gas, and Moscow has publicly backed Xi’s position on Taiwan and accused the West of trying to start a fight over the status of the self-governing island that China claims as its own.

However, Xi has occasionally displayed coolness regarding Russia’s military campaign in Ukraine; In September, Putin made it clear in public that his Chinese counterpart was concerned about Russia’s actions.
