President of Ukraine dismisses leadership because of corruption

Budrigannews.com – Following the most high-profile allegations of graft since Russia’s invasion, which have the potential to dampen Western enthusiasm for his government, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy stated that personnel changes were being carried out at senior and lower levels.

Although Zelenskiy did not specify the officials who would be replaced, he stated that tighter control over official assignments abroad would be a component of the crackdown.

Zelenskiy’s closest ally stated that corrupt officials would be “actively” imprisoned, indicating a zero-tolerance policy.

The top diplomat from the European Union stated that Germany is not preventing the re-export of Leopard tanks to Ukraine.

Poland stated that it would request Germany’s permission before sending Leopard tanks to Ukraine, and that it would do so regardless of whether Berlin agreed, as long as other nations agreed as well.

After Germany appeared to open the door to such shipments by allies, European foreign ministers gathered in Berlin to discuss aid for Ukraine and pressed Berlin to allow countries to send German-made Leopard tanks.

The foreign minister of South Africa deflected criticism of planned joint military exercises with China and Russia by stating that such exercises with “friends” were the “natural course of relations.”

After Moscow accused Tallinn of adopting anti-Russian policies, diplomatic ties between Russia and Estonia were strained and ambassadors from both countries were removed. In support of Estonia, Latvia also expelled Russia’s ambassador.

22 Russians affiliated with the Russian Orthodox Church have been subjected to sanctions from Ukraine for what Zelenskiy claimed was their religious support for genocide.

Pavlo Kyrylenko, governor of Donetsk region, stated on Telegram that Russian shelling of a residential district of the town of Chasiv Yar on Monday that damaged at least nine high-rise buildings left one person dead and two injured.

According to the military of Ukraine, Russia carried out 27 airstrikes and fired 9 missiles at people living in the Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions. Ten of the attacks were fought off by Ukrainian forces in the Donetsk region, including in the Bakhmut town and Klishchiivka village areas.

In an interview with the news website Delfi, Vadym Skibitsky, deputy head of Ukraine’s military intelligence, stated, “Spring and early summer will be decisive in the war.”

The new general in charge of Russia’s military operations in Ukraine made his first public remarks on Monday, stating that modern Russia had never experienced such an “intensity of military hostilities,” necessitating offensive operations to stabilize the situation.
