President of Ukraine and Russia declared victory in New Year’s speech

Budrigannews.com – In their New Year’s speeches, the leaders of Ukraine and Russia both pledged to work toward victory. However, while Volodymyr Zelenskiy spoke of his gratitude and pain, Vladimir Putin urged duty to Russia and portrayed the conflict as a fight that was close to a fight for existence.

Zelenskiy filled his emotional 17-minute video message with footage of Russia’s attacks on Ukraine and words of pride for Ukrainians who survived attacks, darkness, and cold. He also talked about some of the war’s most dramatic moments and victories.

We were informed: You have no choice but to give up. We say: “We have no choice but to win,” Zelenskiy said, standing in the dark with the Ukrainian flag waving behind him, wearing his signature khaki suit.

“We fight together as a team—the entire nation and each of our regions. I respect you all.”

Numerous explosions could be heard throughout the nation and the capital shortly after Zelenskiy’s speech, which was delivered just before midnight Kyiv time on New Year’s Eve. The assaults followed a flood of in excess of 20 voyage rockets terminated across Ukraine on Saturday – and numerous bombardments prior.

Moscow was unprepared for the steadfast resistance and billions of dollars in Western weapons that have turned the war in Ukraine’s favor as it enters its eleventh month.

Russian soldiers have been constrained an out of the greater part the area they required in the main long stretches of what Putin calls a “unique military activity” to “denazify” and disarm Ukraine. Putin’s invasion, according to Kyiv and Western allies, was a land grab.

Putin declared 2022 to be the year that “clearly separated courage and heroism from betrayal and cowardice,” breaking with tradition by delivering the New Year’s message flanked by troops rather than the Kremlin walls.

Putin thanked Russian troops but also demanded more from them as he attempted to win over Russian support in the face of embarrassing defeats on the battlefield and growing internal criticism of his military strategy.

In a dark suit and tie, Putin declared, “The main thing is the fate of Russia.” Our sacred duty to our ancestors and descendants is to defend the country. Our side is moral and historical righteousness.”

Russia had planned a quick attack, but as the war drags on, it has been forced to make society more warlike: calling up more than 300,000 reservists, reworking an economy that has been hurt by sanctions from the West, and publicly stating that the conflict may last a long time.

Putin said that he would never allow the West to “destroy Russia” by using Kyiv. He said this again. He indicated once more that the war, though difficult, would continue.

He stated, “We have always known, and today we are again convinced that the sovereign, independent, and secure future of Russia depends only on us, on our strength and will.” This is something that he was referring to.

Zelenskiy said that the lands Moscow said it had annexed in September would be returned.

It can never be forgotten. Additionally, one cannot forgive. But you can win,” he declared.

Zelenskiy mentioned the Crimean Bridge, Moscow’s symbol of the annexation of the peninsula that connected Russia to Ukraine and was torn apart by an explosion in October, while listing Ukraine’s accomplishments.

The powerful explosion was orchestrated by Kyiv, which Putin immediately blamed, but Ukraine had not claimed responsibility for it or any other attacks inside Russia since Russia invaded on Feb. 24.

“This year has moved us deeply. We have shed all of our tears. Zelenskiy stated, “We’ve shouted all the prayers.”

“We fight, and we will fight forever. In consideration of the key word: victory’.”
