Powerful earthquake occurred on border of China and Tajikistan

Budrigannews.com – According to Chinese state television CCTV, citing the China Earthquake Networks Center, at 8:37 a.m. (0037 GMT) on Thursday, a magnitude 7.2 earthquake struck Tajikistan at a depth of 10 kilometers (6 miles).
According to CCTV, the epicenter was approximately 82 kilometers from the closest border with China and was felt strongly in Kashgar and Artux, two cities in China’s western Xinjiang.
There were no casualties reported. State media Xinhua reported that communication and the supply of power remained unaffected in Kashgar.
According to state media, the Xinjiang railroad department halted passenger trains operating on the Southern Xinjiang railway’s Aksu to Kashgar section.
According to CCTV, bridges, tunnels, and signal equipment were being inspected by local authorities.
