Pilots’ salaries were not affected by the increase in air traffic

Budrigannews.com – After a pandemic-induced slump, pilots have returned to work, but a survey released on Thursday found that many men and women in the cockpit are concerned about their pay.
According to a global survey conducted by aviation industry specialists Goose recruitment and FlightGlobal, more than half of pilots have not received a salary increase in the past five years. During the fourth quarter of 2022, they surveyed 1,184 pilots.
When it comes to pay, Asia-Pacific is the most affected region, with nearly half of respondents reporting lower earnings. In contrast, 73% of North American respondents reported higher salaries as a result of the strong demand for pilots as traffic picks up.
In the next year, almost two-thirds of pilots said they want to change jobs for better pay and working conditions. However, 89% of respondents, up from 66% in 2021, believe there will be a shortage of pilots over the next five years.
Mark Charman, Goose Recruitment’s chief executive, stated, “Pilots will want to see their pay return to what it once was.”
“I predict that there will be more compensation crisis talks in 2023 than ever before,”
