Personnel changes in Ministry of Peru
Budrigannews.com – On Wednesday, Peru’s President Dina Boluarte made a few Cabinet reshuffles, including the appointment of a new prime minister. However, she chose to keep other key figures in the country despite ongoing protests following her predecessor’s impeachment.
Along with a new interior minister and a new defense minister, Alberto Otarola, a lawyer, was chosen to be the new prime minister.
However, Oscar Vera will continue to serve as the minister of energy and mines, and Alex Contreras will continue to serve as the economy minister.
At a swearing-in ceremony held at the government palace, the modifications were made public.

Today, half of Boluarte’s Cabinet of 18 members, which includes Peru’s first female president, are women.
The partial reshuffle came just a few days after two ministers quit over how they handled protests that have killed at least 21 people and injured hundreds in the past two weeks.
