Patriot missiles will not solve conflict in Ukraine-Russia

Budrigannews.com – During Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s visit to Washington, Russia stated on Thursday that the supply of U.S. Patriot missile systems to Ukraine would not aid in the resolution of the conflict or hinder Russia from achieving its objectives.

Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for the Kremlin, told reporters on a call that during Zelenskiy’s visit, there had been no indication of readiness for peace talks, indicating that the United States was engaged in a proxy war with Russia “to the last Ukrainian.”

In a Wednesday speech to the U.S. Congress, Zelenskiy argued that providing assistance to his country was an investment in democracy, citing World War Two battles against the Nazis as an example.

The remarks made by Zelenskiy came at a time when Republicans, some of whom have become increasingly skeptical about the amount of aid sent to Ukraine, are set to replace Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives on Jan. 3.

The Patriot air defense system, which will assist Ukraine in defending itself against Russian missile attacks, was announced as part of an additional $1.85 billion in military assistance for the country.

According to Zelenskiy, the Patriot system was a crucial component in the creation of an air shield.

Standing next to President Joe Biden at a White House news conference, Zelenskiy stated, “This is the only way that we can deprive the terrorist state of its main instrument of terror – the possibility to hit our cities, our energy.”

Zelenskiy addressed reporters at the White House and stated, “We would like to get more Patriots… we are in war.”

A few conservatives have encouraged a finish to help and a review to follow how distributed cash has been spent.

Russia claims to have launched its “special military operation” in Ukraine on February 24 in order to protect Russian-speaking communities and drive out nationalists. The West and Ukraine describe Russia’s actions as a bloody, unprovoked war of aggression.

As Europe’s largest land conflict since World War II continues, Congress is about to approve an additional $44.9 billion in emergency military and economic assistance for “Russia Must Lose.” This is on top of the $50 billion already provided to Ukraine this year.

John Kirby, spokesperson for the White House National Security Council (NYSE:) stated that Washington did not observe any indication that Russian President Vladimir Putin was willing to work toward peace.

Mykhailo Podolyak, Zelenskiy’s assistant, stated that the United States had “finally pinpointed the baseline” of the conflict.

“1. Russia cannot win. 2. There are no “territory for pseudo/world” compromises. 3. Ukraine will get all the military help it needs. as much as is practical. 4. “On Twitter, he wrote, “No one cares about Russia’s ‘talk to us’ hysteria… “

In recent weeks, Russia has carried out numerous strikes against Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, leaving millions without power or running water in the middle of winter.

On Thursday, Power Engineers’ Day, a day after the Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year, Zelenskiy praised the efforts of electrical workers to keep the lights on.

According to what he said on Telegram, “Even if the enemy can temporarily leave us without light, it will still never succeed in leaving us without the desire to make things right, to mend, and restore to normal.” We can overcome any darkness together.”

The chief of the Kyiv city military administration, Serhiy Popko, stated that the primary issue was not power generation but rather supplying households with electricity.

The Russian U.S. ambassador was quoted earlier by the TASS news agency as saying that Zelenskiy’s visit to the United States proved Washington’s claims that it did not want a conflict with Russia were empty.

According to Anatoly Antonov, who was quoted by TASS, America’s provocative actions were escalating, with unimaginable consequences.

Last week, Moscow stated that Russian strikes would be legitimate if Patriot systems were delivered to Ukraine.

Zelenskiy was one of many world leaders who spoke to the joint meetings of the U.S. Senate and House. Other speakers included British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, kings, queens, and one pope.

On Wednesday, Putin supported a plan to increase the size of the armed forces by more than 30% and promised to provide his military with everything it needs to carry out the war.
