OMV expands Board of Directors
Budrigannews.com – According to a statement that was made public on Wednesday, OMV will be adding a new executive board member who will be in charge of energy starting on March 1, 2023. It added that Reinhard Florey, the head of Berislav Gaso Finance, will temporarily take over the energy division until Gaso’s appointment takes effect on January 1.
As part of a reshuffle that was announced earlier this month, Gaso, who is currently executive vice president for exploration and production at Hungary’s MOL Group, will lead one of OMV’s new segments.
The Hungarian oil company announced in a separate press release that Gaso would resign from his position at the company on February 28 and that it would soon name a replacement.

Mark Garrett, chairman of the supervisory board, stated that the new energy segment “will increasingly be on renewable energies such as geothermal and tapping subsurface capabilities to develop a carbon capture solutions business.”
OMV intends to become a net-zero emissions company by 2050 and reduce oil and gas production by 20% by 2030 as part of its strategy.
