Budrigannews.com – Friday, state media reported that North Korea said it had tested a “high-thrust solid-fuel motor” to develop a new strategic weapon under the direction of leader Kim Jong Un.
The official KCNA agency stated that the test that was carried out on Thursday at its Sohae Satellite Launching Ground demonstrated the motor’s dependability and stability and provided a “guarantee for the development of another new-type strategic weapon system.”
According to KCNA, Kim predicted that “another new-type strategic weapon would be made in the shortest span of time.”
The test comes as Rafael Grossi, the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, is in Seoul to meet with officials from South Korea and promise to do everything in his power to halt North Korea’s nuclear program.
This year, North Korea has tested a record number of missiles, one of which is an intercontinental ballistic missile that can reach the U.S. mainland.
